TheYoungAuthors.org leverages the expertise of educational professionals and combines it with an approach rooted in the arts for a truly unique, fun and highly educational experience for the students.
Sharing her passion for literacy with children for the last 35 years, Ralonda Murty is a retired K-12 Teacher, Reading Specialist, and Principal. She lives in rural Pennsylvania with her husband and four dogs. They enjoy hunting, fishing, camping and being outdoors. Ralonda makes donation quilts for several charities and spends time baking for family and friends, but don't let that fool you....her passion for teaching shines brightly throughout this site in lesson planning, execution and overall direction. We could not do this without her.
Ashlee Madison has dedicated the past 20 years to helping students learn, grow, and reach their full potential as a Classroom Teacher, Reading Specialist, Gifted Support Teacher, and Instructional Coach. Known for her creativity and enthusiasm, Ashlee loves thinking outside the box to design engaging, meaningful learning experiences that spark curiosity and inspire a love of learning. She believes that the best learning happens when students are actively involved, challenged, and having fun. Outside of the classroom, Ashlee enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and their beloved family dog, Zoey.
Leigh Buell has been teaching for 20 years. She is married to Tyler and they have two amazing kids. Mrs. Buell loves the Aidan of Oren series and uses it in her classroom to teach reading comprehension. She even went so far as to create a complete novel study of the Aidan of Oren trilogy located here on this website. Mrs. Buell loves reading, gardening, going to the beach...and all things neon. She is addicted to Diet Coke (only from Mcdonalds), has won a number of medals from Alan St. Jean's Writing Olympics and even wrote one that ended up becoming a published picture book (Little Billy).
The boys! Justin Robison is the drummer. His brother, Jay Robison, is the studio engineer and is on the piano. These two play every instrument in the book and have been working with Alan St. Jean for over 25 years to help bring his stories to life through music. They also are a big part of Alan St. Jean's video production. They're talented, dedicated and a little on the crazy side.

This is Alan St. Jean, the founder of The Young Authors. Having spent 25 years visiting schools and working with students, he has seen first hand how an emotional connection to reading or writing can positively affect the life of a child in the areas of learning, comprehension and communication. Mr. St. Jean has made it his life's work and now his legacy to ensure that a path is created for elementary aged students to discover a love of reading and writing by simply showing them how fun it can be. If they're laughing, they're listening. If they're listening, they're learning. If we work together, we can inspire them to reach higher. This is our calling.
